Testimonials
Vijay Goyal
Former Minister, Government of India
These awards help in promoting the tourism and hospitality industry. It will encourage not only the winners, but other people also. There are humongous possibilities for tourism in our country, we only have to see how we can include a common man in it. If we want to promote tourism, we should first ensure cleanliness, proper infrastructure and good connectivity.
Om Prakash Singh
Former Minister, Government of Uttar Pradesh
I would request the organisers to conduct these awards in Varanasi or Lucknow in the coming years to allow us to showcase our heritage to the world.
Satyajeet Ranjan
Former Director, Ministry of Tourism
It is a very well-organised awards ceremony and has been conducted quite professionally.
I wish India Travel Awards a big success, and the way awardees have been chosen is very participative. The selection process of these awards is very good and involves the industry at large.
R. Sudhan
Former Special Secretary Tourism, Government of Manipur
It is indeed a great initiative by DDP group to have these awards , which recognizes and motivates the real leaders and boosts them to take the industry to a different level . The state of Manipur has witnessed a gradual boom in tourism – it is an incremental expression of the potential.
Bhupendrasinh Manubha Chudasama
Former Cabinet Minister, Government of Gujarat
It is a wonderful feeling to get invited to bear witness to such a wonderful initiative and to get the chance to honour the stalwarts of the travel industry. I would also like to extend my gratitude to the organisers for getting the choicest talent pools of the industry together in my city, the first heritage city and also in the great state of Gujarat. I want to extend my applause and appreciation to all the winners for their continued hard work and contribution to the travel industry.
Dr A. Jayathilak
Former Chairman, Spices Board of India
The region is doing very well, which is propelled by Kerala and Goa. Other states like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh are catching up and certainly Telangana. The potential of this region is tremendous.” These awards are the biggest proof of how Kerala as region is also growing and well the industry in booming and I thank DDP group here to identify the talent and give them the responsibility to continue to perform and do well.
Parvez Dewan
Former Secretary of Tourism, Government of India
The discourse in tourism continues to be centered around Delhi, Agra Jaipur Varanasi, etc. I’m delighted that the awards focus on other regions as well. It’s a pleasure to be in the western region because even though the statistics don't show up as a kind of a counterweight to Delhi, Jaipur or Agra, Mumbai still remains the single biggest hub of international arrivals
Dr. Rajendra Prasad Khajuria
IFS, Commissioner, Department of Tourism, Govt. of A P
I think DDP has done a great job by going regional. This way they can incentivise a lot of people, who otherwise at the national level may not come out. This is a great concept in itself
Dattaram Sawant
General Manager-Finance, GTDC
Awards like West India Travel Awards recognise the talent at a regional level and encourage the achievers to excel further. Everyone wants to visit Goa, not only because of its beaches but also for casinos, backwater, cruises, boating sites and now hinterland tourism. Goa received over 5 lakh foreign tourists and more than 35 lakh from India last year.
